After the success of our Rainbow Laces display in 2018, we took a different approach in 2019. Our game was against old rivals Crystal Palace so we invited their LGBT fan group, Proud & Palace, to join us. We wanted to emphasise that we may be big rivals in football, but we are untitled to fight discrimination.
The teams walked out to a display of large Rainbow flags held along the goal line at the Rookery end. Both fan groups then joined up on the pitch at half time to be interviewed by Emma Saunders.
The rainbow captains armband worn by Troy that night is now framed and on display in the reception area of Vicarage Road.
